ABOUT WHANGĀREI PRIDE FESTIVAL
The Whangārei Pride Festival is an annual celebration where queer hopes and dreams bloom.
Each March, Whangārei’s rainbow community comes together for a month-long festival, celebrating those who ‘love it here’ and ‘love it queer’.
The festival features a lively Pride Parade, the dazzling “Love it Queer!” Gayla, and a bouquet of complementary events designed by and for our local Rainbow community and whānau.

Whangārei PROUD grew out of a glorious and growing Rainbow social community in Te Tai Tokerau! With our own Pride HQ at 65 John Street in the Whangarei CBD
Seated in our unique location next to Whangarei-te-rerenga-parāroa under the gaze of Mount Manaia and Parihaka…...we PROUD-ly uphold our connections to mana whenua and our diverse ways of being authentic to ourselves and our tūpuna with events that celebrate our spectrum of expressions as gender and sexual minorities.
